CHENNAI: Catering exclusively to parents and kids, two passionate mompreneurs, Aditi Prasad, the COO and CIO of Robotix Learning Solutions, and Vishwa Dave, founder of Villa 17 and Embellvish, are bringing a riot of interesting events and experiences to the city! Friends for a long time, the duo got the idea to start ‘Miniroo’ on a play-date with their kids.

“We were just chatting about what events can mothers and kids have in the city, and instead of just talking about it, we decided to do something instead!” says Aditi. The idea behind Miniroo is to create and curate events and experiences for kids in food, fashion, education etc. “And also experiences where dads can get more involved! Though, these days, dads are more involved compared to previous generations!” she laughs.

Miniroo’s first event is aptly titled ‘Whimsical wonderland’ — a pop-up exhibition to cater to every child and parents’ whims and fancies! Stalls range from fashionable clothing and accessories to toys and organic food, from entrepreneurs and brands across the country — over 30 brands will be coming down to the city for the first time. “Being mothers, we searched for good products for our kids, and we realised there are many fantastic home-grown Indian products in the market,” Aditi explains.

Some of the brands exhibiting are Brainsmith, started by a mom-preneur in Delhi, that creates educative toys for kids; Slurrp Farms makes organic snacks, dosa batter, pancakes and cereals for kids with no added sugar or preservative, which Aditi vouches is yummy, despite!; Sommer homes that make bedding, cushions and other home decor for kids made with 100% organic material; Mi Dulce An’ya, fashionable clothing for kids made of organic cotton; The Moms Co (Skincare); Tulika (Books) and many more!
In addition to product stalls, there will be a ‘make-your-own-cookie or cupcake’ for the kids and more surprises.

The event also caters to mothers, with a workshop by Dr Sonali Santhanam, a birth and lactation consultant, on ‘Birth Basix’ — using playtime to deepen the bond between parent and child and Breastfeeding (Morning and afternoon session respectively). She will also be available for questions.
Miniroo promises to bring more events for parents of different age groups — their mission being to ‘educate, empower and entertain’. “We plan to empower mothers thereby providing their child a very unique trajectory of life!” says Aditi.

Tag along with your kids to Miniroo’s ‘Whimsical Wonderland’ at Park Hyatt, Velachery, from 11 am to 8 pm.
