Kollywood stars fight for the bull
With growing outrage over ban on jallikattu, the protest by thousands of people on Marina Beach has grabbed national attention! Actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Suriya, Karthi and others, joined the demonstration at the Nadigar Sangam.
Ulaganayagan extended his support for bull-taming a few days ago at a conclave in the city. He had said, “It’s a tradition, which needs to be continued. If animal rights activists find it cruel, even biryani should be banned.”
After Pongal, Vijay came out with a video in which he supported scores of students, who’re protesting to lift the ban. Suriya had said, “PETA may have won in the court of law, but lost in the people’s court.”
Music composer AR Rahman also announced that he would be observing a fast.
It all started with Simbu, who requested fellow Tamilians to protest silently for 10 minutes from wherever they were. On the other hand, GV Prakash and Arunraja Kamaraj came out with a single Kombu Vechcha Singamda, in favour of jallikattu. Dhanush, Vetrimaaran, Arvind Swami and even Tollywood stars echoed the sentiments of everyone.
