CHENNAI: AIADMK parliamentary party leader and Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, M Thambidurai, on Saturday openly expressed his ‘grouse’ with the Prime Minister's office for not giving an audience to AIADMK MPs on the Jallikattu issue.

The AIADMK has 50 MPs in both the Houses (Lok Sabha - 37 and Rajya Sabha - 13) and is the third largest contingent after the BJP and Congress.

Talking to mediapersons after submitting a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee on the Jallikattu issue, Thambidurai said ‘for the past one year, we are unable to meet the Prime Minister to represent the issues faced by the people of Tamil Nadu. Even now, we have waited for three days to meet the Prime Minister on Jallikattu issue. But we have not been given an appointment.”

Thambidurai further said “we are the elected representatives of the people. It is the duty of the Prime Minister to meet us. But we are not able to meet the Prime Minister," he bemoaned.
