Chennai: Pictures of chain snatching suspects out

After four chain snatching incidents were reported at Mylapore and neighbouring areas, police have released CCTV pictures of suspects and sought details from the public to trace them.

CHENNAI: After four chain snatching incidents were reported at Mylapore and neighbouring areas, police have released CCTV pictures of suspects and sought details from the public to trace them.

A police officer said, two days ago, two chain snatching incidents were reported in North Chennai. The same men are suspected to be involved in the four incidents at Teynampet, Alwarpet, Mandaveli and Royapettah.

A police official said a three-sovereign chain was snatched from Usha at Teynampet on Saturday. Similarly, a three-sovereign chain each was snatched from Alamelu of Venus Colony, Alwarpet and Buela from Royapettah. Also, a 10-sovereign chain was snatched from Jacqueline, a school teacher at Mandaveli.

Police have taken CCTV footage of the suspects. In one such clip, it was seen that two men clad in a blue and white T shirt had snatched Jacqueline’s chain.

The officer said if the public spot the same men anywhere, they could inform the Thirumangalam Assistant Commissioner- 99400 55155 and the Inspector- 99403 22999.
