CHENNAI: Amid high drama surrounding the arrest of DMK leader Stalin barring him from entering  Salem, the party organised a human chain protest across the State with leaders of other opposition parties joining hands to insulate Tamil Nadu from NEET. The protesters said the test would deprive rural students of an opportunity to pursue medical courses.
Sans Stalin, other top leaders, including K Anbazhagan, general secretary of DMK, joined in the human chain protest.

Anbazhagan led the protest at Broadway in Chennai along with leaders of other opposition parties, including S Thirunavukkarasar (Cong), R Mutharasan (CPI) and MH Jawahirullah (MMK).
“NEET has been forced on Tamil Nadu against the aspirations of the people. The Centre has committed injustice,” he said warning that the Centre may have to face the consequences if it failed to revoke the test.
Thirunavukkarasar slammed the Centre for forcing the test on the State.

Several students will lose their chance to get  medical education despite securing better score in the cut-off.
DMK leader and former Union minister T R Baalu joined his party men at Teynampet while former Tamil Nadu minister Durai Murugan led the human chain at Pallavaram. Former Union minister Dayanidhi Maran and MLA J Anbazhagan presided over the stir near Anna Statue on Anna Salai, party sources said.
