CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University has despatched 1,300 certificates, kept pending since 2011. The New Indian Express on May 18 had reported the plight of BEd graduates who had to scurry back and forth to get their course completion certificates due to red-tapism in the university.
Even years after clearing their exams, many could not apply for teacher jobs and were forced to repay educational loans from their own pockets. The delay was attributed to automation of the certification process.
“We have dispatched the first batch of certificates on Monday and rest were dispatched on Wednesday,” said an official from the Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University.
