CHENNAI: Afew days ahead of World Multiple Sclerosis Day (May 31), Aarohi Charitable Trust is conducting ‘Vintage Classics’ Edition 3, a fund-raising concert, in support of the Swarga Foundation for persons with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The concert will feature singers V Balasubramaniam, Prashanti Suresh, Priya Sabu, Sudeep Sangameswaran, Surendran Menon and Vidhya Srinivasan, who will perform together as a band, ‘Aarohi-Music for a Cause’. They will also be joined by four guest performers who have MS, including Swarnalatha Guruprasad, founder, Swarga Foundation, who was diagnosed with MS in 2009.

The proceeds from the concert will suppport the charitable works of the foundation, which aims to increase awareness about the disease and other neurological disorders like paraplegia, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s and so on, through marathons, cyclothons and others. It also works with school and college students to remove the stigma attached to the disability and urges policy makers to provide an inclusive and rehabilitative society for patients afflicted with such disorders.

The concert will be held on Sunday, May 28 at Museum Theatre, Egmore, from 6.30 pm onwards.
