CHENNAI: City police have tightened security for the coming festival season.
As part of the measures to prevent crimes, Chennai Police Commissioner, AK Viswanathan on Thursday launched 48 CCTV cameras at Pudupet, 52 cameras at Flower Bazaar and 150 in the bustling shopping hub, T Nagar.
Meanwhile, vehicle checks have also been tightened. From September 1 to October 10, totally, 97,456 cases were registered and fine amounting to `97.5 lakhs collected.
