Desal plant work to disrupt water supply to South Chennai tomorrow

Water supply in South Chennai will be hit due to maintenance works being carried out in Chennai Metro Water’s 100-MLD Nemmeli desalination plant on Wednesday.

CHENNAI: Water supply in South Chennai will be hit due to maintenance works being carried out in Chennai Metro Water’s 100-MLD Nemmeli desalination plant on Wednesday. Water supply in areas such as Adyar, Velachery, Besant Nagar, Sholinganallur, ECR, Neelankarai, Kottivakkam, Perungudi, Palavakkam and Thiruvanmiyur is likely to get affected from 10 am on Wednesday to 10 am on Thursday.

People are requested to store water and contact officials for the supply of water through mobile tankers for urgent needs. Residents of Adyar, Velachery, Besant Nagar and Thiruvanmiyur can contact the deputy area engineer (mobile: 8144930245). Those in Kottivakkam, Palavakkam and Perungudi can contact the deputy area engineer (8144930267). Similarly, those living in ECR, Neelankarai and Sholinganallur can contact the deputy area engineer (8144930252).
