CM Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurates residential quarters, police barracks

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated two police barracks constructed at Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district and Kovaipudur in Coimbatore district, 23 residential quarters for police.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday inaugurated two police barracks constructed at Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district and Kovaipudur in Coimbatore district, 23 residential quarters for police personnel at Kodavasal in Tiruvarur district, Thiruvengadam in Tirunelveli district, new buildings constructed for five police stations at Neyveli in Cuddalore district, Anaicut in Vellore district, Vanur and Nallan Pillai Petral in Villupuram district and also at Kancheepuram. The infrastructure has been established at a total cost of `8.22 crore.

Palaniswami inaugurated all the facilities through video-conferencing facility at the Secretariat here.  He also presented appointment orders to seven persons selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission as Assistant Prison Officers. In all, 83 people have been selected by the commission.  

Palaniswami also inaugurated 407 residential quarters constructed in KK Nagar by the Tamil Nadu Housing Board at a cost of `110.17 crore. These quarters include 352 quarters for middle income group and 55 for low income group. Besides, 154 quarters have been built for government employees who get transferred from other places.  

He also opened residential quarters in Mylapore Seethammal Colony, Pillaiyarpatti village in Thanjavur district and Allampatti and Villipathiri villages in Virudhunagar district.
