CHENNAI: In its second phase of clearing abandoned vehicles parked on the roadside for long periods, and causing obstruction of pedestrian movement, the City Corporation has seized 5,589 vehicles along with the city police.
The list of vehicles which have been granted the clearance certificate from the city police stating that it is not involved in any pending cases have now been listed on the City Corporation’s website while 293 vehicles with clearance certificates had already been listed, said a press release from the City Corporation on Tuesday.
Those willing to claim ownership of the listed vehicles may do so within 15 days by approaching the respective Assistant Commissioners, Chennai Traffic Police. If not steps would be taken to auction the vehicles, the release added.
