CHENNAI: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday took a suo-motu action based on a report published in The New Indian Express about a corporation school student who fell off the stairs after allegedly hit by his teacher and was later issued a TC.
SHRC member D Jayachandran summoned Dharani Bai, teacher, Chennai Corporation Primary School, Ganesapuram, Vyasarpadi along with school headmistress Rajeswari and Chennai Corporation education officer Govindasamy.
Vyasarpadi Inspector Mohanraj, who allegedly threatened the student’s mother to withdraw the complaint against the school staff, has also been summoned. Those summoned would have to appear before the commission on July 31, a statement said.
