CHENNAI: When Heet Chajed was one-and-a-half years old, hot oil burned his torso. His uncle, Jaswant Chajed, took him to Vipin Chand Bomb, the founder of zero therapy, for treatment. Bomb told him to rub coconut oil on the skin leaving the very delicate parts and requested Heet’s mother to change her diet, as she was still breastfeeding him. In two months, Heet was good as new.

“Uncle ji said that my sister-in-law drinks a specific brew of tea, made in the zero therapy style, with pomegranate infused in it. This helped clean her body too, so that when she was breastfeeding Heet, he got the right nutrition to help his skin grow,” said Jaswant. Heet is now three and has completely recovered from the accident.

The Zero Therapy mode of treatment recommends a vegetarian diet to help strengthen the body’s systems, according to Bomb. He started this practice in 2002 and many have adopted it. Stories from his patients lined the walls at the Zero Therapy exhibition held at Konnur Road on Saturday.

“I have a degree in electrical engineering, and I specialised in heat. We treat the body system, in terms of hot and cold. Everyone is born with a ratio of hot and cold which gets corrupted because of wrong food. I try to correct that,” shared Bomb. Vegetarianism, according to him, lengthens the human lifespan and helps heal the body by strengthening existing systems rather than introducing artificial medication.

His ninth book, Vegetarianism for Human Health and Animal Health, was released yesterday The book is published and funded by the many volunteers at Zero Therapy and is free. The book focuses on how vegetarianism is a peaceful way of living that does not hurt living organisms and enriches human beings both physically and emotionally.

Bomb is against violent ways to stop meat-eating and prefers to be an exemplary model of vegetarianism that others can hope to adopt in the future. To further cement this belief, he began treating others to prove the benefits of vegetarianism. Although he has stopped treating others, he hopes they can carry forward the knowledge he has given them and lead healthier and happier lives.
