CHENNAI: To commemorate World Osteoporosis Day and Arthritis Day, Kauvery Hospital hosted a ‘Healthy Walk’ early on Sunday morning at Elliot’s Beach in Besant Nagar.

On the occasion, Kauvery Hospital brought together people who had overcome their orthopaedic challenges to help spread awareness among the public to understand about the latest technologies and treatment options available for such issues.

“I had psoriatic arthritis and underwent an operation only a month-and-a-half ago,” said 67-year-old Vaidehi P, who participated in the walk. “I had a lot of pain in both my legs and could barely walk. Post the operation, I still feel a weight on my leg but I am gradually getting better.”

Orthopaedic specialist doctors of the hospital interacted with morning walkers, joggers and curious bystanders at the beach to shatter myths surrounding orthopaedic diseases and its management.
An informative health quiz was also conducted and winners received prizes.
