Four days after the decomposed body of a techie was found on the IT corridor here, the Kanche-epuram Police along with the CB-CID on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the murder with the arrest of two migrant labourers, both natives of West Bengal and working in an upcoming construction site of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Speaking to the media, CB-CID IG Mahesh Kumar Agarwal said an examination of CCTV footage from an Indian Bank ATM and a Novatron facility in SIPCOT revealed the movement of people resembling migrant workers at the time when the TCS software engineer’s murder was believed to have been committed. One of the assailants attempted to withdraw money from a credit card of the victim but failed after repeated attempts as he could not enter the correct PIN number. Since the identity of the assailant was revealed, physical enumeration of migrant labours in the Siruseri area was carried out and it was found that two persons had vanished from work since February 14, a day after the techie was murdered.
