One of the prime plastic shows in the Middle East Region — Arabplast — is set to flag off during early January, next year. To mobilise Indian participation in this event, the Plastics Export Promotion Council (Plexconcil) has joined hands with Al Fajer Information and Service (AFIS) as an alliance partner.

Plexconcil, is a non-profit body under the Department of Commerce entrusted with the responsibility of promoting exports from the Indian plastic industry. It organises Indian participation in reputed international trade fairs concerning plastics and plastic articles, buyer -seller meets, seminars and workshops and other need-based activities of member exporters.

Speaking to the reporters, R P Kalyanpur, executive director, Plexconcil, said “We have been participating in this event for past several years. However, ARABPLAST 2013 will be different for us this time as we are organising the Indian participation with support from the Department of Commerce under its Market Access Initiative. Over 100 players from various segments of the country’s plastic industry will be part of it.”

“Since UAE is one of the top three players in the plastics industry, participating in this trade show which is to be held in Dubai, will give a mutual benefit for both Indian and UAE businessmen,” said Satish Khanna, general manager, AFIS.

The trade show is scheduled to be held in Dubai between January 7-10. As many as 110 countries are expected to attend the show.
