Sex scandal: Arvind Kejriwal sacks his social welfare minister Sandeep Kumar

NEW DELHI:  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sacked his social welfare minister Sandeep Kumar on Wednesday after a sex scandal came to limelight.  Kumar was seen in an “objectionable condition” with a girl and in another was seen with another girl. “The CD showed the minister in a compromising position with two women and some objectionable photographs,” said party sources.

Besides social welfare, Kumar also held the Women and Child Development portfolio.

Arvind Kejriwal said that Minister of Child Welfare and Social Justice Sandeep Kumar has been removed from the cabinet. He took to twitter to announce his decision: “Recd “objectionable” CD of minister Sandeep Kr. AAP stands for propriety in public life. That can’t be compromised. Removing him from Cabinet with immediate effect.”

Reacting on this, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that after they came to know about the objectionable sex CD, the party immediately sacked him.  “Within half an hour we sacked the minister. There is zero tolerance towards corruption or crime. If Arvind Kejriwal or Manish Sisodia or any another AAP leader or MLA indulge in such kind of activities, they will removed immediately,” he said.

He further said that the party cannot tolerate any kind of such illicit activities.

Sources said that in the CD, the AAP minister was in compromising position and also the minister might have made the sex tape in a bid to blackmail the victims. “Two victims fall prey to the minister,” the source said.

In October last year, Kejriwal had sacked Asim Ahmed Khan, 38, who was minister for food and environment. He had been caught asking for bribe. “I will not even spare my son, Manish Sisodia or anyone else if he is corrupt,” Kejriwal had declared at the time.

In June 2015, Jitender Tomar resigned as law minister after he was accused of faking his college degree. He was replaced by Kapil Mishra, who, within two months, was replaced as law minister by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
