NEW DELHI: In an another step back to Aam Aadmi Party government in the national capital, the state Health Minister Satyendra Jain has come under the Income Tax department scanner on Tuesday. He has been summoned by the Income Tax department on October 4. But defending Jain, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday alleged that Jain has been framed.

Kejriwal  also stated that he will expose ‘a very big conspiracy’ against his government on Friday. He would make the revelation in the Delhi Assembly, Kejriwal tweeted.

Defending Jain, Kejriwal alleged that cases filed against AAP ministers and the recent FIR filed against him are a “big controversy,” regarding which he will make a revelation in the Delhi Assembly on Friday.

Kejriwal tweeted, “I summoned Satinder (Satyendra) this morning. Saw all papers. He is innocent and is being framed. If he were guilty, we would have thrown him out. We stand by him.”

He further pointed out, “False cases against AAP MLAs n ministers, FIR against me, CBI raid on me – why? A v big conspiracy. Will expose in Delhi Assembly on Friday.”

On the other hand, defending himself, Jain said he had invested in some companies, but now he doesn't have any connection with them.  Jain said that it was a reassessment and he was only called as witness.  “I have been called as a witness.  This is nothing sensational like the way you have been showing it on the television. You will show anything….Some assessment of companies is taking place. I had some investment in those companies four or five years back. They want to enquire about that,” Jain said. .

Jain further stated that he had invested in those companies, but now he doesn’t have any connection with them. “When I had contested elections for the first time, I dissociated myself from these companies. I don’t have knowledge of any transactions. Will you prove the charges? Let them prove. The Income Tax Department is saying this is an assessment, not an investigation. This is a notice of reassessment,” he added.

The health minister also added that within the next two days, Kejriwal would “expose” something big in the assembly and dared the media to broadcast it. “After two days, the chief minister will expose the matter and that’s why you are being nervous. He will expose the matter in the Vidhan Sabha…those channels which have guts…show it live,” he added.

According to summon issued to Jain under section 131 (1) of the Income Tax Act 1961, by Deepak Garg, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax:  “Whereas your attendance is required in connection with the proceedings under the IT Act in the cases of Indo-Metal Impex Private Limited ( for assessment year 2011-12 and 2012-13), Prayas Infosolutions Private Limited for assessment year of 2012-13 and Akinchan Developers Private Limited for assessment year 2011-12 and 2012-13..”

“You are hereby required to attend on October 4 at 11.30 am there to give evidence and to produce personally the books of accounts and other document specified here and not to depart until you obtain my permission to do so without prejudice to the provisions of any other law for the time being in force, if you intentionally omit to attend and give evidence or produce the books of account or document, a fine of upto Rs 10,000 may be imposed on you under section 272 A (1) of the IT Act 1961,” the summon notice said.

According to IT department, four companies belonging to Jain which are under I-T scanner are - Indo metal impax, Akinchan developers Pvt Ltd, Paryas Info solution and Manglyatan projects.  Sources said that the department has found in its investigations of financial irregularities in these companies.

As a proof of wrongdoing, the tax officials have recorded statement of Kolkata’s hawala accused Jeevendra Mishra.  “Five years’ Income Tax Returns have also revealed wrongdoings.  The tax officials are investigating three cases of wrongdoings,” sources said.
