NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was shot dead while returning home after casting his vote in the MCD poll in northeast Delhi's Seelampur area, police said today.

The victim, Rashid Khan, was shot at four times yesterday while he was returning after casting his vote in the MCD polls, they added.

Rashid had two bullets pumped into his head and was declared brought dead at the hospital.

The killing is suspected to be a fallout of rivalry over a girl, police said.

His close friend, Bilal, has been arrested in connection with the case, they said.

Sources claimed that the duo had a fight over a girl and that could be the reason why Rashid was killed.

However, Bilal is being questioned currently, they added.
