After months of hiatus, Delhi zoo opened for public 

Last year On October 18, the zoo was shutdown declared quarantine zone and made strictly off limits after deaths of several birds.

NEW DELHI: After a wait of almost three months the National Zoological Park in the national capital is thrown open for public on Wednesday. 

"We have been given the clearance to allow public inside by the authorities investigating the spread of the flu in the zoo. Public is welcome" said a Zoo official. 

Last year On October 18, zoo was shut down declared quarantine zone and made strictly off limits after deaths of several birds. 

The suspected case avian flu spread through migratory birds coming over to the lakes situated in various parks in the city will be opened for public today. 

Although the lake at the zoo, where many birds were found dead is still off limits. 

"Yes, we still want wait before making the lake accessible to the public. Taking precautions for public the lake is cordoned off" added the zoo official.
