Cab driver dies as speeding BMW rams into car near in South Delhi

The BMW driver who was reportedly from Chandigarh and returning from a party fled from the spot; the police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.

NEW DELHI: A speeding BMW rammed into a taxi and killed its driver in South Delhi area near IIT late on Sunday night.

According to the police, the BMW driver fled away from the spot instead of helping the victim. The Delhi police have registered a case against the accused who is still at large. "A PCR Call was received at 11:30 pm claiming that at IIT Hostel bus stop flyover an accident has taken place, in which the WagonR taxi driver has suffered serious injuries. The car was hit by a BMW with registration number CH 01 AZ 2534. The driver fled from the spot, and the deceased has been identified as Nazrul resident of West Bengal," DCP south Ishwar Singh said.

The driver was taken to AIIMS trims center where he was declared brought dead. According to the police, the accused was from Chandigarh and was returning from a party. The cops have traced the address of the person, on whose name the car is registered. An investigation is underway as the cops are on the lookout to nab the accused BMW driver.
