Mobile application for tracking Delhi projects: Government official

Such a move comes after the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been trying to revive his direct connect with the public of the capital.

NEW DELHI: In order to make the functioning of Delhi government more people friendly, an online platform is in the works in the form of a mobile application where users can closely monitor various schemes and projects of different departments.

"The Planning Department has been asked to develop an app which will enables citizens to know about government's work, schemes, proposals and projects and track their implementation at a single platform," said a senior Delhi government official requesting anonymity.

Such a move comes after the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been trying to revive his direct connect with the public of the capital after recent controversies marring the image of the party and Kejriwal.

The application which is yet to be named will put all the relevant information regarding all the projects in the public domain, for better transparency about government work and also enable the masses to track them.

"We are expecting the app to be launched in October" added the official.

Earlier this month, Kejriwal had said the Delhi government would put all relevant information online to ensure transparency in its functioning. The Delhi Assembly has also directed all government departments to send their replies to questions asked by lawmakers via email and in a pen drive.

The system will come into effect when the four-day Monsoon Session of the assembly begins on August 8.
