Open Days for Delhi University aspirants

NEW DELHI: Thousands of students stepped in to the very first day of “Open Days” organised by Delhi University (DU) on Monday.

“Open Days” are conducted every year by the university Delhi to provide counseling to the students especially the freshmen who aspires to take admission in the various Undergraduate (UG) courses provided by DU.

The open days that was conducted in DU was conducted in a three phase from 10.am to 5 p.m. The open days will remain open till 31st May. The open days counseling also involved many parents and grandparents who enthusiastically asked questions about the registration forms. The open days will remain open till May 31.

“The session was good, this time we also came as the students will get only one chance to fill the application form” said, Meena Sharma, parent of a student who was coming for the first time to Delhi University who wants to get admission in B.com (Honors).

The online registration to undergraduate courses of Delhi University which started to operate from 6.P.M. on Monday saw around 200 entries within 10 minutes.

"Between 6 pm and 6:10 pm, we saw around 200 online registrations. If the present momentum continues, we can expect around 10,000 applications on the first day," said an official associated with admissions department.

The varsity offers about 60 UG courses in its 62 colleges affiliated with the university of Delhi.

"We are monitoring the developments," said the official.

However, aspirants were held up waiting to access the registration page - https://ug.du.ac.in/app/ - which was burdened due to the initial rush.
