NEW DELHI: A man working in a government office as operator killed his mother in front of his wife and kids in South-west Delhi’s Palam.
According to the police, 42-year-old identified as Rajiv Sharma llegedly stabbed his 62 year-old mother after a heated argument over deceased spiritual habits.
Initial investigation has revealed that Rajiv and his mother often used fight which each other over the the issue and their arguments turned violent at times.
“Victim told informed about the incident around 10 am after hearing cries of the victim. They said that at the time of the incident the 42-year-old accused Shamra’s wife and two kids were at home and witnessed the horrific murder.
Family members said that Sharma was depressed and irritated with his mother’s oculist practices and had warned her many times to get rid of it. On Thursday, the mother-son duo again had an argument which took shape of violent scuffle during which Sharma took a knife and stabbed his mother,” said a senior police officer.
“A case of murder has been registered and the family members along with the arrested accused are being questioned. The woman’s body has been sent for a post mortem examination. Personal issues between mother and son have appeared to be the reason behind the murder, and the matter is further being probed,” DCP Southwest, Surender Kumar said.
