NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today reviewed disbursement of SC and ST scholarship to students and directed officers concerned to set up call centres to help them.

He asked the officials to ensure that SMSes and IVRs are sent to all applicants for the scholarships. The call centres staff will be trained to execute the task in a flawless manner, he also said.

The chief minister directed the chief secretary and the departmental secretary to take all measures to ensure that the scholarships are disbursed smoothly and on time.

A helpline number should be issued to the applicants to submit their complaints if any in getting the scholarship, a government statement quoted the CM as saying.

According to it, the chief minister said that all calls to the helpline should be recorded and transcribed and all grievances should be resolved within 48 to 72 hours of the complaint lodged.

"The chief minister expressed unhappiness over the delay in disbursal of SC/ST scholarships last year and said that it should not be repeated," it also stated.
