Scribes laud Sundaram

HYDERABAD: Rich tributes were paid to former resident editor of The New Indian Express, PS Sundaram, at a memorial meeting organised by the AP Union of Working Journalists here today.

Veteran journalist GS Varadachary lauded Sundaram's contribution to the profession. IJU secretarygeneral K Srinivas Reddy said that though Sundaram had never held any position in the APUWJ or Housing Society, he always stood by the two.

HMTV editor K Ramachandra Murthy recalled his association with the departed journalist while S Nagesh Kumar of The Hindu said that but for Sundaram's support the journalists colony at Jubilee hills would not have been developed.

NSS managing editor K Laxma Reddy recalled how Sundram had helped him shape up as a journalist. Press Academy former chairman D Amar recalled the professional calibre of Sundaram. Business Line chief of bureau M Somasekhar, MP Rabindranath, Bhandaru Srinivasa Rao, S Ramakrishna and Maha TV editor I Venkata Rao also spoke. APUWJ president D Somasunder presided and general secretary Y Narender Reddy welcomed. Earlier, journalists garlanded the portrait of Sundaram and observed a twominute silence. They conveyed their heart felt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
