The National Investigation Agency plans to question Rajender Chaudhary, accused in the in the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts case, after bringing him here on a prisoner transit warrant.
Chaudhary has been arrested by NIA recently at Nagda, 50 km from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, in connection with the Samjhauta Express train blasts in 2007.
Investigators have come to know of Rajender Chaudhary’s involvement in blasts including the one that occurred at Mecca Masjid in the old city here on May 17, 2007.
Chaudhary, along with the main accused, Swamy Aseemanand, and others triggered blasts on Samjhauta Express, and at the Ajmer dargah, Mecca Masjid and other places in retaliation to the terror attacks on Hindus and their places of worship by Islamic terrorists, the NIA said.
It wants to probe his links with Swamy Aseemanand and also the possible involvement of some locals here.
Nine persons died in the Mecca Masjid blasts and five others in the subsequent police firing on protesters who turned violent and tried to set ablaze a petrol filling station at Moghulpura on May 17, 2007.
