7,200 fined for littering at railway stations

As many as 7,200 persons were penalised for littering etc on railway premises last month.

With a view to ensuring proper cleanliness on railway promises, the South Central Railway is implementing the provisions of Indian Railways (Penalties for Activities Affecting Cleanliness at Railway Premises) Rules-2012. 

During April to July 2013, 27,000 persons were fined.
