2 Sudanese Held With Fake Currency

Two Sudanese nationals who allegedly tried to exchange counterfeit foreign currency notes were apprehended here on Wednesday, police said.

Badreldain, a businessman, and Hamam Mustafa Abdel Rahim Ibrahim, a degree student, residents of Tolichowki, were nabbed by West Zone Task Force sleuths and seized 20 fake currency notes of $ 100 from them, they said.

Both are natives of Khartoum, Sudan.

Additional DCP, Task Force, K Ramachandran said that the accused Badreldain was engaged in a business of clothes, shoes and perfumes in Khartoum. He collected 20 fake currency notes of 100 US dollars from one of his friends in Sudan and reached India on December 6, met Hamam Mustafa and tried to exchange the fake notes.

While they were trying to exchange the fake notes on Wednesday, the Task Force police team apprehended them.
