The Hyderabad Canine Club (HyCan) in association with MARS International India Pvt.Ltd. and Pedigree, a pet food company, will be organising HyCan’13 Dog Show on December 15 at HITEX International Exhibition Centre, Hitech City, Hyderabad for dog owners, trainers, breeders and dog lovers in the city. It will showcase 40 different breeds and 300 dogs from 25 cities of India.

“Over the past 15 years, HyCan has been organising this event in association with Pedigree and it is my pleasure to come back again with some new activities for dogs and awareness workshops for pet owners,” says Kiran Chintis, Chairman of HyCan.

Special championship activities like Flyball contest, Obedience trials, etc. have been planned for the event. With an aim of spreading awareness about pet care, HyCan will be hosting some pet awareness activities such as education on pet care, handling dogs safely and useful tips on pet ownership. All the activities will be judged by three international judges. This year a very special award – K9 HERO award – will be bestowed upon the best police sniffer dogs of the state.

Dog owners can get expert advice on the needs of their pets such as food, health and training of dogs.

“To raise awareness for pet owners, we have decided to support the HyCan dog show wherein the top breeders will showcase the best of different breeds from all over the country. This also gives us an opportunity to educate and inform pet owners on selecting the right breeds, taking care of the pets and the right nutrition for them,” adds Nitin Kulkarni, Director, Corporate Affairs, MARS India.

The pet food manufacturere MARS India will also launch two new pet products at the HyCan’13 Dog Show. India’s leading dog show judge C.V.Sudarsan will also be honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the event.
