Fire in Shirdi-bound APTDC Bus in City

A minor fire broke out in a Shirdi-bound bus of the AP Tourism Development Corporation here on Wednesday. However, no passenger was hurt.

The bus was to proceed to Shirdi from the city carrying 40 passengers.

Trimulgherry police inspector P Ravi Kiran said that the mishap took place at RK Puram in Trimulgherry police limits where six pilgrims boarded the bus which was on its way to Kachiguda from where it was to leave the city for Shirdi in Maharashtra.

As the bus reached the Kendriya Vidyalaya bridge in RK Puram in Secunderabad, the driver noticed some sparks and smoke emanating from the battery and brought the vehicle to a halt. On learning of the snag,  fear-struck passengers disembarked immediately.

RTC Bus Engine Catches Fire

Anantapur: The engine of an APSRTC bus, bound to Kadiri, caught fire at Anantapur bus stand on Wednesday immediately after the driver started it.

However, the passengers got down from the bus safely. Bus driver N Lakshmaiah noticed the flames in the bonnet and immediately and threw it away. In the meantime, 20 passengers got out of the bus and ran away.
