At least five people were charredto death and eight others injured when the lorry in which theywere travelling caught fire here, police said today.
The accident occurred when the lorry carrying labourersfrom Odisha fell from a flyover at Kothwalguda in Shamshabadarea here, they said.
After falling, the lorry's diesel tank burst and thevehicle was up in flames resulting in death of five persons onthe spot while eight others suffered burn injuries, they said.
According to the Shamshabad airport police, the speedinglorry hit a side pole and fell off the Outer Ring Road flyoverfollowing which it caught fire at around 11.30 PM yesterday.
The injured persons were admitted to a hospital here, theysaid.
