It’s International Women’s Day and the city has a multitude of offerings for women to kick up their feet and have fun. But before you rush off with your girlfriends, here are a few make up tips to get that sassy look right. Especially if your going to be turning up at a do straight from office, you’d want to apply the right make up that suits a professional environment as well. Find out more about the right ‘tools’ to have in your kit.

Eye shadows enhance your eyes. If you are going out clubbing, then try a bronze or golden eye shadow. This will give you the glamorous look. For the day time, go for light shades like pinks.

A concealer is must to attain that clear complexion. Unless you are blessed with a good skin, it is important to conceal those dark patches, dark circles and acne spots. The trick is to use a concealer, one shade lighter than your skin. Use a light concealer as you don’t want to look all caked up.

Manicure and pedicure kit

Clean hands and feet go a long way. Always make sure you have clean, well manicured nails. For day time, stick to french manicures. For a party, try deep nail colours like red, blue or green.

This is a must have in every makeup kit. Even if you are not wearing any makeup, a thick line of kajal can works wonders. Invest in a smudge proof kajal stick that can also be applied on the eye lids. Do away with the runny liquid eye liner.

A good quality foundation is your best friend. Always spread the foundation with a sponge. This will help spread the makeup evenly. Also, it is important to choose the right shade. If you apply a shade that does not go with your skin colour, then the foundation will show on your face, making you look made up. Go for a shade that looks natural, making your skin look radiant.

Applying makeup on dry skin will make your skin dark and patchy. Also it is important to  invest in the right kind of moisturiser that will suit your skin type. If you have dry skin, go for a heavy moisturiser which will hydrate your skin. If your skin is oily, choose a mild moisturiser as you don’t want to end up looking all sticky and oily.

Invest in a lip colour that compliments your skin colour. A matte finish lipstick is perfect for brunches or day time get togethers. For the evening you can go for deeper shades like crimson and browns. Don’t use too much gloss over the lipstick. Keep it minimal for the classy look.

Lip balm/ nude lipstick

Invest in a nice, shine free lip balm. This will keep your lips soft and pink.

Set of brushes

Brushes are the important tools in your makeup kit. To get that perfect look, you need an array of brushes. Applying makeup with hand can make your face look caked as the makeup does not spread properly. Some of the brushes you can invest in are lip brush, eye shadow brush, etc.

After curling your eyelashes, a thick coat of mascara is a must. Mascara makes your eyes look big and sultry. These come in different shades like blue green and black. Stick to a classic black mascara for the day.

Eyelash Curler

An eyelash curler can transform you into a diva within minutes. It is a must have in every makeup kit
