Thousands of devotees formed serpentine queues outside Siva temples across the state on Sunday to offer prayers on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri festival. All Siva shrines reverberated with bells chimes and chants of “Om Namah Shivaya”.
Siva temples at Ameerpet, Begumpet, Punjagutta, Nallakunta, Shivam, Machabolarum, Dilsukhnagar, Esamia Bazar, Falaknuma, Fathe Darwaja, Feelkhana, Gowliguda, Gudimalkapur, Lal Darwaja, Kalasiguda, Karwan, Lingampally, Madannapet, Malakpet, Mangalghat, Puranapul, Shankargunj, Sultan Bazar and others were decked up with dazzling lighting, festoon and buntings. Police had made tight security arrangements at temples in the wake of last month’s terror attack.
