The ancient Trikutalayam temple at Nagunoor in Karimnagar mandal, built during the Kakatiya era, will get a facelift at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
Minister for civil supplies D Sridhar Babu, who laid the foundation for the revamp project here Sunday, said the state government has issued a GO pertaining to the reconstruction that houses Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Surya.
The reconstruction of the temple, which is in a dilapidated condition, will be taken up by endowments and archeology departments with the financial assistance of the Kasuganti Narayana Rao Memorial Trust.
A fund of Rs 4 crore, released by the trust member Kasuganti Laxman Kumar, has already been given to temple authorities, the minister said, adding the trust has agreed to give an assistance of Rs 5 lakh per annum for maintenance.
