Railway drive from today against travelling without original ID proof

The railways will launch a special drive to check if valid identity proofs in original are being carried by passengers travelling in all reserved coaches by deputing commercial staff from March 16 to 22. During the check, SCR will undertake publicity campaign to spread awareness among travellers.

Those found guilty of not carrying their valid ID proofs in original or travelling on transferred tickets will be penalised.

Any passengers booked on a PNR for undertaking journey in reserved class has to produce any one of the prescribed proofs of identity in original.
