Writing for a cause

Indian Development Foundation in association with State TB Control Society, Andhra Pradesh, Directorate of Health Campus , Sultan Bazar, Hyderabad is organising an essay contest as part of the World T.B. Day which is on March 24. TB is one of the leading causes of death in India - killing two persons every three minutes - nearly 1,000 persons every day.

The topic for the essay is “Our Goal is a TB Free World “. The contest is open to school students of classes 8 and 9 from across the state. The best three entries will be awarded with gift cheques worth of Rs 3000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 respectively.

The entries duly authorized by the Principal or HM, may directly be sent to Indian Development Foundation , Address: 1-1-742/A, Ground Floor, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, AP - 500080. Tel: 040 ? 27660081 , on or before March 20.

There is no entry fee. The essay should be in English and the length of the essay is approximately 750 words. Only original and hand written essays will be considered. The candidate must provide full name, date of birth, personal address, contact numbers and e-mail ID on the first page of the entry. A passport size photograph may also be sent along with the essay.
