Rs 70 crore for drinking water supply

With the mercury soaring high, the state government has released Rs 70 crore to mitigate the drinking water problem in the state. The revenue department issued two separate orders to this effect on Saturday.

Of the Rs 70 crore, Rs 20 crore will be utilised for 168 municipalities and corporations where the water scarcity is very high. The remaining `50 crore will be used for rural areas.
