With the weather turning warm and sultry, most of us would love to step into a pleasant fresh smelling home when back from a tough day at work. Clean summery scents can do a lot to lift our moods and keep stress at bay. There is always the option of using plug-in air fresheners or freshener sprays, but the natural route is always the wiser choice. We tend to forget that a lemony scent actually originates from lemons and not from a very expensive bottle from Paris. With today being the World Fragrance Day, here are a few suggestions for your home to feel fresher and divine this summer.

n Use products that can diffuse out essential oils into the air space resulting in mild but lively scents. Fragrance Diffusers and Vaporizers are ideal products which are pollution free and works on natural principles of diffusion.

n Simmer Lemon slices in water on the stove to scent the air deliciously. Peeling a lemon and simply twisting the peel so that oils are released into the room is also a good idea. If you love the smell of tangerines, lemons, or oranges, toss in some grated fruit peel to boiling water and simmer.

n Dried Lavender can be kept in a decorated container next to the bed to make the bedroom feel fresh and to promote relaxing sleep and pleasant dreams.

n A bouquet of scented roses, for example, can spread the scent of a summer garden all throughout the house. Choose strong scented flowers like roses, honeysuckle, gardenia or Lily for a permeating home fragrance option

n Mists and sprays are an easy way to add wonderful, natural scents to your home and they are proven allies in the fight against germs. Mists and sprays are a simple way of providing aromatherapy by just using essential oils, water and a spray bottle. Spritzing a few drops of essential oils into the air will also help the room smell fresh and divine.

n Leaving small bowls of potpourri around the house will also help spread the fragrance. Not only do they look good when put in small bowls or tied in sachets, they also smell pleasant and summery.

n Simmering a pot of water with a dash of cinnamon powder sprinkled with a few cloves can also do wonders to make a house more inviting and appealing.
