Agriculture, allied sectors under one umbrella mooted

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the government was contemplating to bring agriculture and allied sectors under one umbrella at the mandal-level to be monitored by one officer which would be beneficial to the farmers.

Efforts were being made to synchronise agriculture, dairy, horticulture, sericulture, poultry and fisheries sectors with power and irrigation sectors to ensure benefit to the farmers. The government had also introduced agricultural action plan in the Assembly recently and the changes would be in accordance with the action plan, he said.      

The Chief Minister visited Dairy Show-2013, organised at Hitex, Madhapur on Friday. He interacted with the dairy farmers and enquired about the various breeds of cows, and buffaloes.
