New South Wales honours city NGO

City based SAHI (Society to Aid the Hearing impaired), an NGO that strives to help poor children with hearing impairment and conducts free surgeries was awarded ‘Philanthropy Honours’ in recognition of its outstanding contribution and yeoman service amongst the hearing impaired from the impoverished sections of the society, by the Office of the Minister Disability services, Govt. of New South Wales, Australia recently at a special function at Sydney, Australia.

Dr. E C Vinaya Kumar, secretary, SAHI and Dr Jaswinder Singh and G Srinivas, members of SAHI received the honours.

SAHI aids children mainly in rural areas with little or no access to modern medical treatment.

It conducts free surgeries for underprivileged persons through its‘Gift a Ear’ project.
