Tight security at Nampally court for Pahelwan

Police had beefed up security in and around the Nampally court on Monday when Mohammed Pahelwan, accused in the attack on MLA Akbaruddin case, appeared in the court.

Following intelligence warning of possible attacks on Pahelwan by MIM supporters, police took security measures at the court anticipating that Pahelwan’s appearance would trigger tension.

Special police pickets were posted at the main gate and near the entrance to the court hall to prevent any untoward incidents.

Visitors were allowed into the court premises only after being frisked thoroughly. However, no untoward incident took place during the day.
