The third Metropolitan Magistrate B Chengalaraya Nayudu on Tuesday convicted 19 persons for drunk driving and sentenced them to jail for a period of three days. A fined of Rs 2,000 - Rs 2,100 was imposed on the violators.
The enforcement against drunk driving was carried out over the last weekend on March 22 and 23.
A total of 324 persons were booked for driving in an inebriated condition. Vehicles of all respondents have been detained. Those who violated the rule of drunken driving attended compulsory counselling sessions at TTI, Begumpet and Goshamahal on Monday.
