Sculptor held for carrying illicit liquor

The Task Force police on Friday arrested a 35-year-old sculptor for transporting illicitly distilled liquor at Malakpet. As many as 500 liquor sachets were seized from him.

Deepak Singh is a resident of Nandu-Ki-Tall, Gangabowli. The police also seized his scooter that was being used for transporting illicit liquor.

Police said Deepak Singh was facing financial problems and had agreed to supply, transport illicit liquors sachets as directed by one Sanjay Singh, resident of Gangabowli, Dhoolpet for Rs 300 per trip.

On a tip off, the cops intercepted Deepak Singh at Afzal nagar huts, Saleem Nagar, Malakpet while transporting the sachets to a liquor seller.
