Two youths open fire, rob man in supermarket

Panic reigned for a while at a supermarket on Saturday evening after two youngsters opened fire and snatched away a cash bag from a person at Muradnagar in Asifnagar police limits here.

The daring, daylight robbery took place around 4 pm when two persons came to Khan supermarket   to supply some snack material. Two youths who came on a bike asked one of the suppliers, Afzal, to give them his cash bag. When he refused to do, one of the assailants opened fire into the air and snatched away the bag. Dazed by the brazen attack, none of the customers or the staff in the supermarket made any attempt to resist the robbers or catch hold of the youths after they completed the task and started to flee.

Minutes later, the victims alerted the police who rushed to the spot and started making enquiries. Joint commissioner of police, Special Branch, and deputy commissioner of police G Sudheer Babu rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
