As many as 10 lakh unemployed youth will get jobs as about 500 industries would be set up at Dugarajapatnam port in Vakadu mandal, Tirupati MP Chinthamohan said, adding that the port will be developed at Rs 5,000 crore . Ruling out the possibility of affecting the living standards of fishermen with the establishment of the port, the MP said that the government will protect the interests of fishermen. Speaking to the media Saturday, he made it clear that there would not be any threat to the existence of Pulicat lake with the establishment of Dugarajapatnam port. He appealed to the villagers located near the port as to not sell their lands as he observed that the land property rates will soar significantly in the future.
