Stating that police play a key role in maintaining law and order, in-charge Director General of Police B Prasada Rao on Thursday said that he would introduce reforms for the welfare of police.
Prasada Rao participated in the passing out parade of 268 Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (SCTPCs) of the first battalion of APSP at the Parade Grounds.
In his address, the DGP stated that he would introduce several reforms for the benefit of the police and their family members.
He asked the passing out police constables to discharge their duties with great commitment.
Additional Director General of Police, APSP D Gautam Sawang, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Swathi Lakra, DIG Shaik Mohd. Iqbal and others participated.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad police commissioner Anurag Sharma also participated in the passing out parade of SCTPCs of Armed Reserve (AR) here.
As many as 140 SCTPCs (71 of AR Nizamabad district and 69 of SAR CPL) consequent to their selection, have reported in this training centre in 2012 and have undergone nine months basic induction training.
During the nine-month training, the cadets were trained in physical training, squad drill, arms drill, unarmed combat, swimming, major Acts, minor Acts and special and local laws. In addition, training in personality development was also imparted.
Among the SCTPCs, Suram Swamy of AR Nizamabad secured highest marks in indoor subjects, Sachin Gaikwad of SAR CPL secured highest marks in outdoor events. Nagarjuna Vykuntapu of SAR CPL secured highest marks in firing practice and Suram Swamy of AR Nizamabad has been adjudged as the best all-rounder trainee for his excellent performance.
