A division bench of the High Court on Tuesday said all the material left in Hussainsagar after the immersion of Ganesh idols shall be cleared within 24 hours.
The bench was disposing of a batch of petitions filed M Venu Madhav, an advocate of the city, and others, complaining that the lake is polluted due to immersion and the main bund is being damaged.
Last week, the bench passed orders directing authorities to hold a meet ing of Ganesh Utsav Samithis. It suggested the proposal of symbolic immersion be considered.
The court had made it clear that no material shall be burnt. Various other directions were also issued.
