Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) new strategies have led to their electoral success but the party has consciously avoided laying out a broader framework, observed social activist Aruna Roy.
“It remains to be seen what the effect of this deliberate departure would be on the potential to achieve stated objectives of a corruption-free and ethical society. At first glance, even the definition of what is corruption and what the norms of ethics, become opaque in the absence of an ideological framework,” she said.
Roy was speaking on ‘Democratic Governance - A Contemporary Discourse’ at University of Hyderabad on Thursday where she was honoured with a degree of doctorate of Literature by the Vice-Chancellor Ramakrishna Ramaswamy.
She called for people’s movements through which issues of injustice and inequality are raised.
