Skin Care That Leaves You Ready Post Winter

Why should winter be an excuse to forgo looking good?
In order to maintain the pH balance of your skin and avoid dry winter skin, cleanse, tone and moisturise your face daily. It is never a good idea to leave your make up on for long periods of time and especially not during winter since it will clog the pores up. With make up, the smoky look is recommended to glam up the dreary atmosphere. For the eyes use bronze, black , grey or other dark colours. Use warm and dark lip colours like shades of red, berry or maroon. To keep your lips chap-free, apply a hydrating lip gloss or lip balm over the lipstick.
Apply a mixture of honey, cucumber and sour cream over the lips for 15 minutes and wash with warm water later to keep them looking healthy.
For the blush on the cheeks, use warm colours but not a pink or peach blush. Again, while travelling, it is ideal to keep a good make-up base on hand to keep the skin hydrated through the day. Do not use oil free or matt base this season.
To maintain a glowing appearance, apply a moisturiser with a rich formula that will hydrate the face, giving it that dewy look. If the face is excessively dry and the moisturisers don’t seem to be doing enough, then soak a cloth in cold whole milk and place on the face for 10 minutes. The milk’s liquids will help rehydrate the skin.
As weather changes, so should the make up. Foundation, creams, cleansers and so on which are not oil free should be used during the winter.
Carrying a moisturiser is very important for hydration as mentioned before and your moisturiser should also have SPF content in it. If the cleanser, toner or the moisturiser lack SPF content, use a sun block or sunscreen as alternate options. These come in handy while travelling or on holidays. It can be very tempting to indulge in a longer than necessary hot shower but this should be avoided or else the natural oils that keep the skin regulated will be lost. Pat your skin dry, not rub and once done, apply a cream, oils like argan oil or a body butter. Do this immediately or the skin will look flaky and start itching. It is necessary to have a healthy intake of water every day of the year and eat fruits and vegetables as they also contribute to water intake and provide other nutrients.
